Norma Kamali Is Your Friend

Designer Norma Kamali has done it all - from disco chic to sleeping bag coats, she's usually on the cutting edge. The cutting edge right now is diffusion, and on the cheap. This can be highly successful, as Target has proved, but Kamali is boldly going where no designer has gone before: to Wal-Mart! Prepare for sticker shock!

Skirt, $15. Shirt, $15.

All in one jersey top, $20.

Skirt $15, tee $6, jacket coming in June.

Batwing cardigan, $18.

If you've picked yourself up off the floor, here's part two of the scoop:  Kamali's Wal-Mart stuff is well made.  Couture it is not, but it's very nicely turned out, as I found myself when I tried a few pieces.  What's next?  Oscar de la Renta for Payless? It's a brave new world.

To purchase, visit Wal-Mart.  All images, Norma Kamali.

I was proud to say I have never been to a Wal-Mart and now I have to go. I hope you can sleep at night knowing you've taken that from me.

:O I am in shock...and laughing at the comment above - it's too good! I lovingly refer to Walmart as the "polyester palace", however, I too, believe my mind might have been changed and I'm thinking a trip to check out this line is due...

thanks for sharing~

Style Redux: I don't blame you :) The Wal Marts around DC are a bit terrifying - ones down South have a little more going for them, but it's not exactly Bloomies! Wal-Mart in Alexandria off 395 carries the line I believe.

Sarah - Yes, I seem to have caused a lot of emotional damage here :) And I can't wait for my next trip to the Polyester Palace!

I really don't think I can get behind the batwing cardigan; everything else though, is lovely!

Thank you so much for the encouraging comments on my art opening!

I could have worn the Kamali Black Jersey all in one. What great images! I will check them out.

My sister ... . who knows I'm a loooong time Norma fan & NOT a Wal mart fan .. . . called recently to give me an astounded report on this!

Thanks to your pics, I just may need to plan an excursion to this uncharted territory -
