THE PERSONAL STYLE OF KATE SPADE

The Spade name is synonymous with chic. There's Spade Green, Spade Stripes, and the Spade Shape (that boxy bag). But forget the fabulous arm candy and follow the yellow floral fabric to its source:  Kate Spade herself. As any Vogue reader would know, Mrs. Spade favors bright colors, strong pattern, and a bit of shine. But I'd never seen a full retrospective on her look, so I decided to create one. Here it is:  Kate Spade Style. Morning, evening, and in-between, below are a few snaps of the icon of green.

Wouldn't it be awesome to be Kate Spade? Then you could wear all the Kate Spade you ever wanted.

LOL. Yes Bromeliad - that would be completely awesome. And give "shopping your closet" a whole new edge!!

Adore Kate Spade, but not just her designs, but her marketing abilty is fabulous and that's what I truly admire. You know how they ask "Name 5 people who you would like to meet before you die?" For me, one of them would be Kate Spade.Just something about her whole vision I love (like everybodu). Great job on the new blog header, it's perfect! And even greater job on these boards, you must like her as much as I do.

I love the reversible yellow/black/white coat, but the outfit with the pink tights is doing her no favors. Kate! You have a waist! don't hide it in a mushroom. Otherwise, carry on.

Don't you think Kate Spade looks like a brunette version of Tea Leoni?

What a great post on such an iconic lady of style...

Kate Spade is one of my design heros -- not only has she made carefully planned, successful business decisions, but she sticks to who she is and the root of her company. Did I mention I love her style?

Nicely done!

I'm a huge fan of her designs and style. I love that she kept true to herself with a ladylike approach even when the trends were going in the other direction.

That being said - sometimes she just does not dress for her body. Those trapeze jackets in shiny materials? ouch.
