Exotic Holiday

One of the most delightful things I've seen in the past few weeks is the Anthropologie spring catalogue. With fashion mag quality scouting and styling, they've turned their spring merch display into a complete experience. Bali! India! Madagascar! I don't just want these clothes; I want to wear these clothes in these places. Maybe Virgin Atlantic should be getting some kick-back from their ads too?

Anyway, let's go! Forget the snow and the frozen soup in your freezer and your even more frozen feet and throw away your gloves and mittens - and scarves! - and let's go. We'll toss our coats at the airport - no sense bringing them on board! No thank you stewardess! We don't need a blanket or footies! Just a daiquiri - yes, that's great. Thanks. And please lift the window shade. We're going to get some sun.

Oh, I'm right with you! What amazing sites, really, would you even care what you were wearing if you could be in these spots?!

I want to be there right now! I am so over this winter!

I also loved this catalogue -- it could've been straight out of Vogue!

And I want to go there. Now.

These photos were taken in the famed LAS POZOS garden of Edward James in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He was the heir to a vast Railroad fortune in England, befriended Dali, and other Surrealists...and created what was once THE most important collection of Surrealist Paintings in the World.

He retired in Mexico, and set forth to build his Magnus Opus, a magical Surreal garden of Pagodas, stairways, pools, etc.
