GOING TO THE DARK SIDE

I'm the home decor Will Rogers - I never met a color I didn't like. But that definition has never included black; for me dark is dull, lifeless, a lost opportunity. So I've been surprised lately to find myself pinning black walled rooms to my Pinterest boards. High black gloss is glamorous, or perhaps it captures a certain seasonal spirit, like lamplight reflected in the dark windows of a winter evening...

I do did the dark side. However, I don't know that I could ever commit to painting a whole room in black. I'm thinking of doing a dark blue and black combo in my dining room.

I love your blog! Have you ever had drinks in the lounge at Tabard Inn on N Street NW? It's the room up the stairs before you walk into the bar. That is my favorite use of black paint - it sets the rest of the room off so nicely and I notice a new detail every time I have a cocktail there.
