SUN AND SEA AT ANTHROPOLOGIE

J'adore Anthropologie - it isn't just their lovely looks and sublime styles; they create designs with wit. This summer, open your doors and drawers with porcelain urchins or bronzed crab. Dine off of scenes from the deep, as medieval monsters toss hapless ships. Or salute the sea with psychedelic coral, salt 'n pepper minnows, and a couch that will suck you in (to the arms of an octopus). Whether you're holiday-bound or settling in for a "staycation," these treasures will bring the ocean home.

Exotic Holiday

One of the most delightful things I've seen in the past few weeks is the Anthropologie spring catalogue. With fashion mag quality scouting and styling, they've turned their spring merch display into a complete experience. Bali! India! Madagascar! I don't just want these clothes; I want to wear these clothes in these places. Maybe Virgin Atlantic should be getting some kick-back from their ads too?

Anyway, let's go! Forget the snow and the frozen soup in your freezer and your even more frozen feet and throw away your gloves and mittens - and scarves! - and let's go. We'll toss our coats at the airport - no sense bringing them on board! No thank you stewardess! We don't need a blanket or footies! Just a daiquiri - yes, that's great. Thanks. And please lift the window shade. We're going to get some sun.

Resort at Anthropologie

Anthropologie is beginning to dip a toe into spring and summer pieces, and I'm loving the lighthearted mix of neutrals, 40s nostalgia, and quirky patterns. Try out a bathing suit worthy of Monte Carlo, a fishnet wrap, or a bone necklace so large Tory Burch would think twice.

All the Pretty Sparkly Things

I covet (to quote SJP) some shine and sparkle. Will I look like a human chandelier? Likely and unregrettably. From Anthropologie: Corvus earrings and After-the-Rain bracelet.

The Well-Read Look

I love pretty things, Anthropologie, and books, so when I find pretty books at Anthropologie - perfect! Below are a few snapshots of my favorite tomes - worth the reading, and perfect for decorating - your coffee table, bedstand, or display shelf.

Getting A Handle

I love this new feature from Anthropologie - just select the style and color of furniture that resembles yours, and click and drag your favorite Anthropologie hardware to see how it will look on your piece! Peace of mind, indeed.
